ASEAN media visits Guangxi to observe development projects



China led the journalists from the member countries of ASEAN to observe the economic, social and culture developments in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region which is the gateway to ASEAN.

Department of Publicity of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Guangxi branch of China News Service jointly organize “Guangxi in the Eyes of International Media 2023.”

Under the project, the journalists and the content creators for online platforms from 10 ASEAN member countries including a representative from the Thai News Agency (TNA) will have an opportunity to see the economic, social and culture developments under the policy of President Xi Jinping who wants the country to have high quality development.

This year also marks the 20th year anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partner between China and ASEAN and the 10th year anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Liu Kun, Deputy Director of the Department of Publicity of CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of Guangxi Information Office in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region presided over the opening ceremony of the project called “Guangxi in the Eyes of International Media 2023.”

He said that Guangxi is located at southern border of China and is one of the origin of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the Silk Road Economic Belt for sustainable development and for mutual security with the countries in the Southeast Asian region.

He hoped that hosting the journalists from Southeast Asian to survey the development in Guangxi autonomous region and visit the newly established industrial factories including China-ASEAN electric vehicle plant in Guigang, the visiting tour of Guilin, which is listed as a state-level historical and cultural city.

The opportunity to observe the environmental friendly economic activities in Guangxi would enable the journalists to clearly access to the information and help making good understanding between the public, private and people of China and ASEAN. The presentation of ASEAN media will also bridge China-ASEAN to the world communities. (TNA)
