Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said the “Belarusian attack” on the Polish border was an attempt to undermine the cohesion of the European Union so that Poland could not accept Ukrainian refugees. He spoke about this in an interview with i.pl.
- The Belarusian attack on the Polish border through artificially induced migration was a prelude to Russian aggression against Ukraine. It was an attempt to undermine the cohesion of the European Union, and also an attempt to destabilize Poland so that when Russia attacks Ukraine, we would no longer be able to accept Ukrainian refugees. This attempt failed, but, unfortunately, there are still publicists and political activists on the side of the opposition who do not understand this,” said Mateusz Morawiecki.
Meanwhile, migrants continue to storm the EU, including Poland, across the border with Belarus. But their number is noticeably less than at the peak of the migration crisis.
Morawiecki mentioned the situation on the border with Belarus when speaking about corruption in the European Parliament. According to him, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Poland should soon publish new documents related to this case.
“Today we know that Russian traces have also appeared in the corruption of MEPs. Our interior minister will soon release documents on the influence of Russian services that corrupted MEPs,” Morawiecki said.
Recall that in December 2022, one of the largest corruption scandals in its history erupted in the European Union. The Belgian prosecutor’s office informed that the Brussels investigating judge had charged four individuals with “belonging to a criminal organization, money laundering and corruption”. They were arrested, two more unnamed people were left at large.
Among those arrested are former Italian MEP Pier Antonio Panzeri, head of the Italian NGO “No Peace Without Justice” Niccolò Figa-Talamanca, Secretary General of the International Trade Union Confederation (headquartered in Brussels) Luca Visentini and one of the 14 vice-presidents of the European Parliament, a socialist from Greece Eva Kaili.
Kylie and the others are suspected of taking bribes in exchange for creating a positive image of Qatar in general and spreading positive information about the situation of labor migrants in this country.
